LOTS OF THINGS TO DO...

LOCAL INTEREST

Our stunning location has plenty to offer.

Enjoy the abundant flora and fauna on the property, part of which is a site of special scientific interest. Buzzards and Red Kite can always be seen, as well as many varieties of birds and numerous wild flowers. There is a paintable subject round every corner for artists.

Hay on Wye,  known worldwide as the Town of Books also has plenty of interesting shops in its narrow streets;  small independent enterprises selling antiques, clothing and  lifestyle goods as well as a chemist and grocery stores. On Thursdays there is a vibrant market in the town square which is is dominated by the 12th century castle.

There are many local activities to enjoy;  hire a canoe for a leisurely paddle down the River Wye, go pony trekking to a local pub for lunch,  visit the go-karting track and meander around  Weobley (a picturesque Herefordshire village on the Black and White House Trail),  or visit

Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve and stroll to the waterfalls.

Rock climbing, caving, archery and gorge walking are also available.

Other local attractions are  Blaenavon Colliery, Dan Yr Ogoff caves, Pen y Fan and the Brecon Beacons, not forgetting  the towns of  Brecon and Hereford, and their Cathedrals and of course, the world famous Mappa Mundi.

There are many local pubs and places to eat serving excellent food.

The riding is outstanding  with immediate access to a green lane leading up onto open hills. There are also quiet lanes to reach other bridleways. Ride over the hill to Paincastle for a pint and a sandwich, or explore the bridleways down to the River, and ride back along the  Wye.
